The Problem

Why Most Relocations Fail,
And Why Ours Don’t

Most providers manage paperwork. We manage outcomes. The difference appears in productivity, retention and employer reputation.

01

Paperwork-Only Providers Create Operational Risk

Completing permit applications without coordinating the full picture leaves critical gaps. The employee arrives unprepared. Productivity delays begin immediately.

03

HR Overload Creates Internal Inefficiency

Your HR function is not a relocation specialist. When they absorb relocation logistics, core hiring and compliance work suffers. We remove that load entirely.

04

We Operate a Structured Coordination Framework

Not a checklist service. A structured four-phase framework that aligns employer, employee and family before the move, and monitors stability after arrival.

The Business Case

Relocation Is Risk Management,
Not Administration

Replacing a failed international hire costs between six and twelve months of that employee’s salary. That figure includes recruitment fees, onboarding investment, lost productivity and reputational cost.

We are not a visa agency. We are a coordination partner whose deliverable is operational stability: an employee who is settled, productive and committed for the long term.

“Relocation done correctly is retention strategy. Relocation done incorrectly is an expensive mistake.”

Faster Time to Productivity

Practical uncertainty is the primary cause of delayed productivity. A settled employee focuses on work from day one.

📋

Stronger Long-Term Retention

The first 90 days determine whether an employee stays 3 years. A structured landing builds loyalty that pre-arrival paperwork cannot.

🕐

Reduced HR Workload

We absorb the coordination entirely. Your internal team focuses on what they do best.

🌏

Investment Protection

Every international hire is a significant capital deployment. Structured relocation is the mechanism that protects that investment.

Our Method

A Structured 4-Phase Framework

Each phase has defined responsibilities, clear deliverables and structured communication. No phase is skipped. No assumption is made.

01
Phase 1

Strategic Alignment

Before any action is taken, we establish clarity on every variable that determines success.

  • Role and expectation alignment
  • Family situation and requirements
  • Timeline and milestone planning
  • Risk identification
02
Phase 2

Legal & Administrative Coordination

Precise management of every official process required for legal residence and work.

  • Work permit coordination
  • DVV registration
  • Tax card and banking setup
  • Documentation management
03
Phase 3

Housing & Practical Setup

The physical environment determines the employee’s capacity to function. We coordinate it entirely.

  • Apartment coordination
  • Contract review guidance
  • Utilities and local services
  • Practical orientation
04
Phase 4

Family Integration & Stability

Long-term retention begins with a family that is settled and supported. This phase does not end at arrival.

  • Schooling guidance
  • Everyday life support
  • Community and services
  • Long-term continuity

Scope Defined Together.

Every relocation is different. The employee’s situation, the employer’s structure, the family’s needs, these variables determine the actual work required.

We do not sell packages. We assess your situation, propose a defined scope, and deliver exactly what was agreed. No retainers. No hidden fees. No unnecessary services.

  • Clear written proposal before any work begins
  • Scope defined to match actual complexity
  • Defined responsibilities on both sides
  • No lock-in. No retainer.

The Founder

Born from genuine experience.
Not from a business plan.

Calza Oy was founded from a genuine desire to help. Through my international friends, I witnessed at close range how challenging settling in Finland can be, even when a job is already secured.

I helped them with rental agreements, identity card and driving licence matters, insurance and the many practical arrangements that nobody prepares you for. I saw how even small ambiguities can create profound uncertainty in a new country.

My background in the telecoms, energy and insurance sectors has given me a strong understanding of contracts, risk management and the Finnish operating environment. I understand both the logic of the systems, and how they appear through an outsider’s eyes.

“I founded Calza so that arriving in Finland can be handled clearly, systematically and responsibly, so the employer gains a committed professional, and the employee gains a safe start in a new country.”

Why This Matters
🤝
Personal experience, not theory
I lived this process alongside friends. I know exactly where the system creates friction for newcomers.
📄
Contracts & risk background
Telecoms, energy and insurance, industries built on precision, accountability and managing complexity.
🏳
Finnish system fluency
DVV, Kela, Migri, tax authority, I navigate these on behalf of clients so they never have to.
📍
Both perspectives
I understand what an employer needs operationally, and what a newcomer experiences emotionally.
